I am greatly disturbed that Ensign Sulu has chosen to come out of the closet with his sexuality. I value the rights of all Americans to love whom they love so long as it is within the traditional bounds of a man-woman marriage. I have informed Starfleet that they should take executive action to have Sulu discharged for the time being, until such a time as his lifestyle is "okay" with the rest of the galaxy. I entrust Captain James T. Kirk to abide by the terms of his contract and uphold his service to the Federation. I do not wish to punish Sulu for his sexuality, but rather reward him with early retirement so that he can hang out in San Francisco. I understand some homosexuals like hanging out there.
