you're absolutely right. i know nick didn't entirely mean to generalize because we've spoken about it, but some of the comments on here--if they were made against blacks, muslims, jews, hispanics, slavs, etc. they would not be tolerated. nor should they be.

i suppose, unfortunately, many of us americans are used to it and the idiots stick out (the ones with the pseudo-patriotic stickers on their cars, the far-right isolationists, etc.). but they by no means represent all americans and i've seen enough racism to know how damaging generalizations are and how hurtful they can be.

i find most the americans who post here to be amongst the best informed, tolerant, and liberal minded people i've come across. that's all i'll say on that.
