I am giving serious consideration to This. I think if I put the fattest tires on my touring bike and burn some vacation time for training I could at minimum finish. Rig up a stereo for New Order bootlegs for inspiration and cadence. Pull over and hide for a smokey smoke of weed to kill pain. If I cannot finish find a tavern in a small town, belly up to the bar and call for air support.

I am taking the week of Thanksgiving off and could do some serious trail time as a trial run. Take a long weekend off in March for another attempt.

Same here.

Alcohol helps me not to think so much about it though.

My sons makes me feel young again sometimes, but my teenage daughter makes me feel old.

real mid-life crisis is when you know that there is no hope of things ever getting better... you can quit lying to yourself.... and it sucks...
