WIs it worth Getting a surround sound cinema system?

I'm considering investing in a surround sound system for my DVD player etc, but i don't know anyone who has one to see if they're worth investing in.

help anyone?

Some friends of mine bought cheap shitty ones, with shitty sound.

I'm not impressed.

If you love movies, you need a surround system with your DVD-player. We have our DVD connected to our music-system (with surround 5.1). You don't want to watch films in 2.0 anymore...

Well i do love my movies and the first reply was simple and to the point. So i've just been into town and took the plunge ,gonna set this sucker up and annoy the neighbours.

i haven't done it yet. eventually i'd want to integrate way hifi with my dvd player. the next step would be to get a subwoofer.

Yep, it's integrated with the rest of my hifi. Need to get a subwoofer but my dealer says it isn't worth spending less than £1000 on one which is more than my front speakers. I'll upgrade to floor standers before I do that.
