I tried really hard to get all my french friends incensed that it depicted the french as a bunch of colaborating clouseau types. But they just laughed their bollox off at it....they thought the idea of the accents being the languages was priceless ( which is the only thing about it I ever found funny)
Not sure if you get it dubbed or subtitled, but let's say the chick from the resistance is talking to Rene....she'll says "ello rene, eve you seen ze airmen", and then she'll turn to one of the airmen and in a broad english accent say "OK chaps, now we've found you let's get home", and the "french" can't understand her.
I remember that series from a holiday in Denmark about "50 years" ago. It was on danish TV and it was great. I remember something with a gestapo(?)-sausage... I totally forgot the title of the series, but I'm sure that's it. I never saw that series running on german TV. It's a shame...
