Like them or not, it's probably the first time in a very long long time that Americans are ahead of Japan technologywise.
Their new X-Box 360 is out and is currently the hottest game platform on Earth, beating Sony and Nintendo.
You have to admit, for once, it's good not to feel retarded

you had me worried there for a moment our resident computer nerd at work costantly swears at Microsoft proramming/codeing stupidity.
The first XBox was already better than the PS2 anyhow.
The real reason the 360's out ahead of the PS3 is because it's looking like inferior technology.
Also MS had to pump out the first next-gen console to try and gain some sort of marketshare before Sony moves in.
Don't buy one now. There's only a handful of decent titles and the price of the 360 console will plummet when the PS3 arrives.

PCs are still the best period. Microshaft wins this one hands down because nobody writes games for Macs. All these new games systems are really attempting is to be a small pc. We do have an Xbox for the kids but I doubt I will get them the 360. The bugger is only a year old.
People DO however, write and convert games for Linux (and if done right they're usually better performing, if done wrong they are awful). MS don't have a monopoly JUST yet.
it kind of reminds me when sega long ago tried to rush out their Next generation console. Now they are not even making consoles anymore.
But what I've been reading, the xbox 360 is still going to be better than the ps3.
