Yep, and they are absolutely fantastic. Lost in a Melody is particularly brilliant. Only seen them once mind, supporting Manics in Liverpool.
I'll put "Faded seaside glamour" on when I get home, haven't listened to it in ages. Its more of a summer time album :)
Another one for the "The" police...
Great band, nice to know Southampton has something more to offer that Craig fucking David. 'Long Time Coming' is currently the soundtrack for the AOL Broadband adverts. New album should have been out by now, but delayed (chortle) till the new year, I think.
Saw them supporting Manic Street Preachers on the last night of their tour earlier this year. A pretty good double bill. Manics are probably past their best now but they could still cut it live. Having said that I think "Long Time Coming" is by far the Delays best song, and never bothered getting the LP. Perhaps I have made a mistake...![]()
Funnily enough i had been thinking about asking everyone's opnion on Delays for a while but didn't think any of you lot would be in to them
Faded Seaside Glamour has superb tracks on it.Very dreamy and melodic in places.Wanderlust ,Nearer Than Heaven ,Long Time Coming,Hey Girl and Sattelites Lost are the highlights for me.Lost In Melody is great but isn't on the album.Or at least not the original release. It came out as a single some time after. The singer sounds VERY like Liz Fraser at times(although it's a bloke)

Will be checking out their new album when it eventually comes out.Hopefully early next year.
That is my one slight critism. The singer sometimes sounds female, but I'm used to it now,and they have nectar sounding tunes..so forgiven..big girl singer:p I actually did think it was a lass for a long time.I just totally love"long time coming home"mind you![]()
I thought she had a really pretty voice. I went to their website to check her out but the she was a he. Good album.
I was wondering about the "lego" reference the other day. He says the song is about the death of his father?

He says on the website that the song "long time coming home" is about watching friends from his youth, conform into aldulthood...with jobs and houses they don't like, that sort of thing....The line in the song "How can you grow old you were my.. too-rii-emphh!"took a while to decifer..nice track...Looking forward to their second album now...

first thing I thought when saw the thread header! the new stuff sounds better to me than the album - thought was a bit beachboysy at first, but it gets better.
