I'm thinking of setting up a fan club to cater for people who like The Cure, Depeche Mode, U2 and ColdPlay as well as New Order. The question is, waht do you think the membership charge should be?

  • Charge anything you like - people will pay 8 (50%)
  • Charge anything you like - nobody apart from Spotnick would join! 8 (50%)

You have listed them in the right order.. The Cure & DM are perfect choices, U2 are pretty good live, but I've never really got the Coldplay thing...

Top article Steve- They left OMD out of thier list of Fairlight users though. I saw them live in late '86 during the Pacific Age tour and the live sound was fantastic(mind you, with all the synth kit they had on stage, including a Fairlight Series II and 2 EII's, they had no excuse for it to be shite).

Like all the above, but I think the Cure's gone off the boil a bit judging the performance at last years Manchester Move Festival.

I like all those bands apart from Coldplay - am I the only one who wishes that Chris Martin and co would just split up and leave us all alone?

Indeed. They're about as enjoyable to listen to as elevator music.
