my interest has been in middle eastern studies (mostly arab, but jewish, as well) for quite a while now. my avatar is the insignia of ha'poel tel aviv football club, whose grounds were about a three minute walk from where i used to live in TA.
i stopped taking russian after my freshman year at university, hence my appalling grammar!
