fellow dork here. i thought it was all hype until i decided out of sheer boredom to buy the books when i was living in israel. i bought the first four and read them in about five days. then i passed them on to some fellow skeptics i lived with who also decided to give the first one a try. like me, they were hooked. it was funny--there'd be three of us sitting on a couch, reading the books then passing them on. nobody could get us to move and it's all we talked about for days.

i bought the first four and read them in about five days

i hate reading them so fast. i try to slow down and spread the reading over a week but i'm usually done in a day and a half to two days depending on the size of the book. i just can't put them down. there are not too many books out there that can hold my attention for that long.
