his salary is being part funded directly by the clubs main director. Talk about breaking your wage structure.

If it's one club who don't need Keane at the moment, surely it's Celtic?!

Strange move, me thinks.

Why would anyone want to sign a CROCKED 34 year old HAS BEEN ? Rangers fans must be laughing their socks off

2 things about Keane to the Celts..

  1. I dont know about the quality of the kids at Parkhead (Strachan's Sprogs?), but if there is a few quality kids coming through Keane will inspire and drive them no end, bit like Cantona did to the kids at United in the 90's. So defintely some long term gain for Celtic from this move.

  2. Keane & Strachan? I'll give it a month !

Roy has signed for Celtic. £40,000 a week for 34 year old who is always injured. Great player in his day though.

Looks good to me!

Fuckin' great signing.

I agree Nick, he will definitely help drive on the younger lads like Maloney, Beattie, McGeady, Wallace, Kennedy, McManus et al.

A proven winner with more talent than the combined efforts of the whole Rangers team.... 34, over the hill and he's always injured will be the huns response, kinda like Alex Rae?

Having just watched Sky Sports News he played 43 of 60 games last year and 6 of the first 8 this year. I can live with that.

Looking forward to the responses by Tyler and The Boy

And Liam, Dermot Desmond is not funding any of Keane's pay packet contrary to reports by the meedja.

Nice signing Lads..Put him in goal and he'll still bag a hat-trick every week in that league:thumb: C'mon the Hoops:clap:

Ah well he'll do i suppose. This is undoubtedly the biggest signing in the history of Scottish football and Celtic have to be applauded for pulling off this deal. Let's face it, it's not very often a truly world class footballer decides to ply his trade in the SPHell, even if his best days are behind him. Must admit i wasn't too bothered if he signed or not, but after watching the press conference, and Celtic making all the right noises about Petrov's future being the top priority, i'm beginning to warm to the idea. :thumb: Roy's the Bhoy -

No, yer right enough  I would still love to see Robbie at Celtic, but to be fair the lads up front aren't doing too bad at the moment.

I was like John, I wasn't sure about Roy Keane, hence me not posting anything before now about the subject. But reading all the papers and seeing him at Paradise has got me 100% behind him. He certainly looks committed to the cause. Cannae wait to see him in action

Looking at in in another way Roy could be a star Celtic but lets be honest the standard of the SPL is wank. £40,000 a week for a player they don't really need as the title will end up Celtic Park this season anyway. They have Neil Lennon as their holding player who is decent and a nice bloke too.

Celtic might be looking at it form the merchandising side of things, all the shirts they could sell with keane on the back etc, so maybe its a good £40,000 a week

but yes the SPL is wank, gretna will be up there winning it in a few seasons :evil4:

Shuggy Bear...seen this one yet???

Rockers Oasis created uproar in Glasgow last night when they dedicated a song to Irish footballer Roy Keane, who has just signed for Celtic.

Liam Gallagher taunted the Rangers fans in attendance before singing 'Bring It Down', saying: "This one's for Roy Keane".

Both Noel and Liam Gallagher are Manchester City fans and would never have dedicated a song to the football star while he was playing with Manchester United.

The dedication sparked jeers from the Rangers fans in the audience, with many of them throwing plastic beer glasses in the direction of the stage.

Liam Gallagher responded by saying: "You can take it, you're grown up, aren't you?"

Maybe Oarses ain't exactly the twats we've all made them out to be after all!!! :ignore:

I hadnae seen it Brother Jeff, so cheers

Noel is seen quite frequently at Paradise, espescially when we play the Dark Forces, there was an interview on their website not long back, a day or two before we played Rangers with Noel saying "I hope we fucking do them" apparently his missus is a blue nose, so that causes a bit of friction on the rare days that they actually do manage a win against us ;)
