Anyone see all these commercials for herpes medication on the TV? A lot of them seem to involve perfectly normal people who start off by looking at the camera and saying, quite matter-of-factedly, "I have genital herpes".

Then there's always a quick cut to them frolicking with some (I'm assuming) unaware sexual partner :skeptic:

Now, I don't know all that much about herpes, but isn't it kinda a bad thing to be having sex, if you have herpes? I mean, not only the risk of it flaring up for yourself, but for your partner to catch it from you?

I almost expect the herpes sufferer to follow that thought with "and I'm giving it to the one I love, yep, this guy right here. He won't be able to pee comfortably for a month once I get done with him." :evil4:

That's just wrong...or showing my lack of knowledge concerning herpes and its ability to spread, more likely

When I read your thread title I thought of that hot brunette in the herpes commercial. From what I understand, and I could be wrong, is that you not fuck anyone with herpes only if the herpes have flaired up.. But unless my wife dies or leaves me I will never have an opportunity to discover the wonderful world of herpes.

Maybe herpes is like syphylis. The big S used to be extremely deadly but as the years went by the virus evolved to where it does not kill the host. Suppose herpes has changed from a godawful STD to a minor inconvenience and embarassment once in a while?

How times have changed! From the Government information adverts of old. Saw one the other night starring non other than CORRIE'S Mike Baldwin (Johnny Briggs) on the dangers of skin infection of not washing your hands!

Going off on a tangent,it's not nice to mock anyone hard of hearing, but I was talking to my future mum-in-law who's a pensioner and she's ace.Told her about this advert about protection....and she's strained towards me.."what's that..ERECTION??"

I agree with your commentary on the herpes commercials, Taboo. It just goes to show you that people will endorse anything for money.

Bob Dole endorsing Viagra is much more hilarious than the above suggestion.
