My New Years Eve began on December 29. I went over to a friend's house and she, another guy, and I went to a bar for scaryoke - a goth kareoke - and did Depeche Mode's "Strangelove" with my friend. After drinking two vampires - some fruity liqueor, cranberry and vodka - and a white Russian, the three of us, along with another guy at the bar, went over to the DJ's new house in Northeast Philly to use his hot tub. We waited an hour for the water to heat, but before it got hot enough, one of the guys went into the tub and started singing "Hot in Herre" and dancing, until he fell in. After, the rest of us soon joined him in the tub, where we remained until 7am. Then, my friend, the guy who fell in the tub, and I headed back to her house, where we fell asleep for a few hours. After, I went home, had lunch and dinner, and fell asleep. The next day, December 31, I went back to my friend's again and she, I, and the guy who fell in the hot tub went back to Northeast Philly to another house for a party. I drank four cups of punch and two glasses of wine and just hung around and talked, until the guy who fell into the hot tub started saying that he had Depeche Mode songs in his head. So, because the people whose house we were at have a kid, I took the kid's toy keyboard and started playing "Strange love" and "Just Can't get enough" on it to annoy the hell out of him. But, it was a typical party. People showed up who you didn't want to talk to and you ate a lot. Eventually, I fell asleep on their sofa at 5am, although I woke up at various times because the cops showed up at 7 am and then later, someone whispered into my ear, "that's for getting Depeche Mode stuck in my head all night." But, I woke up again at 11am and somehow made it home by 4:30pm despite the Mummers' parade downtown slowing the bus service.
