Mike Oldfield

I dug up some Mike Oldfield stuff. Didn't listen to him for a long time. But I can't deny that he is some kind of musical genius. I grew up listening to him because my parents discovered his "QE2" (which I love until today) back then (and we all love his music ever since). My personal highlights "Tubular Bells", "QE2" and "Songs from distant earth"

What do you think? Is it wrong to dig Oldfield ?

I remember when I was a very young boy my father coming home form work (second shift) turning on the radio and Tubular Bells would be on. Such a great instrumental. Only years latter did I learn its association with horror.

Tubular Bells always reminds me of this -

yeah, know what you mean! It was, and still is, pretty damn good though! I think the test of time and all that...

I recorded an album of guitar instrumentals for an old bandmate, and the opening track was called "New Flowers in an Old Field." A tribute of sorts.

But Sally did some marvellous albums with the help of her brother.
