In the King Kong thread we went a bit off-topic talking about Jeffrey Combs. So lt's talk about favourite horror-movies and -actors here.

Anyone saw "Bubba-Ho-Tep" featuring Bruce Campbell?
Bubba Ho-tep was pretty funny, mostly for Campbell, though. When the actual story took over (like near the end), it just got dumb.

Bruce Campbell is the man, i met him at a book signing at the WTC maybe 2 months before it was destroyed, it was his birthday and he had a big cake and offered everyone a piece(there were like 1,000+ people there!) and he personalized every book with one of the evil dead One Liners, Mine was " to Frank Shop Smart, Shop S-Mart" the girl in front of me go tthe better one hers said "Stay Groovy!" by the way book was destroyed in a flood in my apartment on thanksgiving 2002

To this day, when playing an FPS game...if things go badly, I STILL pull out a shotgun, Quote Bruce and go totally fucking postal....I am sure the invocation of his name is the only reason I get way with it.
Sorry, I don;t really DO horror movies, this is alll i can contribute. (I think the scariest film eer made is nineteeneightyfour)

I used to love horror films when i was younger but there aren't that many good ones these days. They tend to just be gore-fests, which are unnecessary.
However, back on subject, you can't beat Friday the 13th. My friends and i had a pyjama party years ago when we watched this and had all settled in my living room with quilts, toffees and gallons of beer. My friends after screaming all the way through it, finally settled down at the end of the film where she's in a boat in the lake. I'd seen the film before so knew what was coming. When he shoots up through the water, it was carnage - beer, toffees and quilts everywhere - ha, funneh!!
LOL When people call round to your place tripped out/depressed/shaken....you put "careful with that axe eugene" on don't you :D only if that aint heard it of course.

Yepp. It's hard to find quality horror-movies these days.
I must admit though, and i'm probably one in a minority, but i loved the film "The Ring".
It's not really scary during the film, but the ending is the first ending in years where i've been genuinely terrified. Put it this way, i've had the well in my back garden sealed up for good!
I liked "Saw" too, but don't suppose that could be classed as a proper 'horror' film, but that mask scares me a bit.

I was encoding The Ring for a friend who only had a VCD player....not only was it an unholy nightmare in general cos I was using windows....but...you know the first time we see the video, and the screen goes to static.....at that exact point every single program I tried, exited and said it didn't know why. In the end the only way I could make her her VCD's was to literally chop out half a dozen frames around that area.

The Ring was actually quite good and it did give me a wee chill I must confess. Leanne keeps telling me to watch Saw as well...hmmm must be some common taste things among high quality lasses.
Steve - horror/supernatural films are my thing - best B movie horror film I know of is Night of the Demons in USA it was Curse of the Demons. Bought both in October after searching it down.

Well I never saw the original "The Ring" but the Hollywood-movie was the last great horror flick I saw...
