Maya, have you been seducing young American tourists so the Russian mafia (who you used to work for) can sell them off for wealthy tourists to torture and kill? Let's just say I'm cancelling my trip to Eastern Europe. Fuck Siberia.

Oh, did I not mention that it's a fun movie. I enjoyed it at least, but then again I may be a sicko.

Definitely want to see this movie and it's gotten mixed reviews so far, saying it isn't all that's cut out to be, and the torture scene is only one minute long (which is long enough for some i guess)

Always been a fan of Tarantino, "Reservoir Dogs" was just plain nasty, "Pulp Fiction" was a fun ride. My favorite is "True Romance" with Christian Slater and the lovely Patricia Arquette- the screenplay written by Tarantino and I believe Tony Scott directed it.

There's no play on words, I know nothing! Supposedly some edgy scenes occuring in this movie.

I'm glad you didn't highlight "I know nothing" well, on second thought I really don't know much in general.

So I take it that it's not a good date movie...unless your date happens to be Charles Manson :evil4:

And if your date is Charles Manson, you may want to consider expanding your horizons

Actually, my girlfriend was the one who convinced me to go see it (I was thinking about going anyway).

It's fairly gory, but doesn't have a terrible amount of torture in it that you actually see. It's a DIRECT descendant of Texas Chainsaw Massacre (lots of different references to Chainsaw in it), so it's pretty similar in theme and the way it works by hinting at more than it shows. All in all, much better than one of those big-studio high-gloss Hollywood remakes featuring John & Jane TV Star, or those techno-fear movies that seem to be dominating the horror market since the mid-1990's.

I damn well hope your girlfriend is just a female friend. The pope is supposed to be celibate don't you know?
