Depends on the legs, surely?!
I like those 'hold-ups' which seem omnipresent these days. Bit of stocking with a load of rubber up top to keep it strapped to the thigh. Lovely.
And, nope, it's not ME wearing 'em!
OOOOh they hurt! Wore them once to a wedding, they cut off the blood supply in your legs and when you take them off you've got a ruddy big dent round your legs!

and at least in my case by the end of the day they are stretched (and no I'm no cow, and I did have the proper size) and they fall down ANYWAY

Well, that's true but I'm trying to live in an ideal world!
I had Jacqueline Bisset in mind as opposed to Hattie Jacques!

Trust me, blokes love them. You've got the silky stocking, a big welt of rubber, and then bare-naked flesh, all within a couple of inches of each other.
Lovely.

I totally agree with AL! Although suspenders also get my vote...not tacky at all!! ![]()
I personally like the Pretty Poly ones with the double P (PP) in the lace top, although the rubber bit pulls the hair on my legs.

Sounds worse than having a car crash into you?!
I think they are sexy as long as they aren't too fussy/frilly. Simplicity's sexy to me, and there's little sexiness in having bows that bump up out of your skirt, making you look other sexed. I don't much like the rubberized-top thigh highs, mainly for the reasons mentioned before (and it's less of a thigh size issue than a "walk around downtown, they start losing their punch" thing.
But, overall, I'm more of a fan of wearing those longer men's dress socks that make me look all school girl-ish.

Will you also put on a plaid skirt and a white blouse???
If so, I'll be around after work...finish up at 10:30 tonight...
(See Trevor, that's how you do it...all smooth and sophisticated like)....
Jeez, I crack MYSELF up...
i'm with you, melly. i often wear socks that come up either just above or below the knee and a mini-skirt with my mary jane shoes when i go out. the socks stay up surprisingly well.
