Yesterday i went walking out in the countryside with my ex whose dog i have looked after for 9 years.Since the dog passed away on NEW YEARS EVE i have been totally at a loss on what to do.I so miss the little angel.Anyhow i decides to enter a PUB for the FIRST time this year.Yes even my love of drinking has gone.Relaxing having a pint and the usual small talk is broken when my youngest son who was going out on a FREE piss up and meal (taken my place) rang to say he had somehow managed to tear a radiator of the BATHROOM wall.Having very little money and saving up for the 28th i did not want to be spending loads of dosh on an emergency plumber.But i spent the best part of 2 hours clearing up water and trying to salvage what is left of

One thing i fear is coming home one day to a flooded house.Still , it would be easier to clear up if i had laminate flooring :(

True, if you catch it early, however if water is on laminate flooring for sometime it may warp !
Very sorry to hear about that, Rocket. My dorm room flooded last winter, I remember, during the night I came back to the university from winter break. My roommate flushed the toilet and the water started pouring out from the bathroom and all over the carpet. My roommate didn't know how to stop a flowing toilet, so I had to do it, with over an inch of water on the floor of the bathroom. My roommate meanwhile was trying to contact the floor RA, but he wasn't there and no RA was downstairs to help, so we had to contact building maintenance ourselves to file some type of complain so someone could see what was wrong with our toilet. Turned out that the piping had partially frozen during winter break. Because the water seeped up the sewage water, our room smelled like a toilet until we managed to get it shampooed.
dad news indeed. we've had our hotwater heater blow its lid some four years ago. it flooded the house as well. all carpet was repalced, and the new hotwater heater is outside.

What kind of sound did your hot water heater make when it blew? Four years ago, my mother's hot water heater blew but it made absolutely no sound. I just turned on the light to the cellar - the basement - and found a foot of water on the floor. The basement had no drain to the outside, so we had to take it outside with buckets.

no sound it particular, at least none that we heard. it just poped its tops, slowly spreading water everywhere. thankfully it was all covered by insurance.

Going of on a tangent,which I've been known to do..why does every newish house have sodding Chipboard flooring under the bath?
Whenever I shower,it always gets on the ledge of the bath and runs down side.Always keep a cloth there these days,but when I didn't,the very worst thing that happened was that the flooring under the bath turned into "Ready Brek"!

LOL The stupid water co. placed a new electronic meter on my line without replacing the rubber gasket and of course it shitted out soon enough leaking water in my basement and forcing me to gog to Home Depot to take a wild guess at what gasket or oring would work. Successful but it stoled time from me.
