When I was 13, after I had grown out my hair, I went to a hairdresser to get it trimmed. She did trim it and she also gave me a side part. Not an off center one but one about 3 inches off center. And she cut it like that too. For a year, I would try to part my hair down the center - like it always was - and it appeared really uneven, with longer hair sticking out on one side. After that fiasco, I always tell the barber, give me a center part, please!

I was quite proud of my mullet. Short on the sides, spiked on top, shoulder length in back, braided on the left side, rat tail down to the middle of my back. It was ace. :D

Those modified mohawks of the mid 80s were shite. Spiking the top got old too. Buzzing the sides and keeping the top short may save money on shampoo but it takes too long to get it to grow "normal" and during that time I looked like shite. Still look like shite but it's not my hair style.

I had a nearly waist-length spiral perm for much of high school in the early nineties. :dead: Everyone loved it but I couldn't stand it, God knows why I kept it for so long. Just before graduation I cut it to my shoulders and had the perm straightened out, really felt like I had a weight taken off!

Still I did manage to avoid ever having skyscraper bangs!

Mine obviously was when I looked like I could've been a member of the cast of Dazed And Confused, specifically Mitch, the young lead freshman.

The Hoddle and Waddle look is definitely better than the shaggy look from the 70's, but that may not be saying much...

Actually, I don't own it....hand on my heart....:)

I'll reluctantly hold my hands up to sporting the Waddle mullet in the footy casual days of the mid 80's.

in the US and canada we called the '80s mullet 'hockey hair' as many of our great hockey players sported said hairdo during those years.

I'm unable to upload any photos but I had some big crazy black Robert Smith hair in the early 90's. Currently have some variation on that but more Trent Reznor than Fat Bob.

My choice vests were a satin black on black paisley, and a black velvet number with red roses.
