I miss the corner stores in Philly. The convenience stores in Boston just don't add up. True, they do sell alcohol at the ones in Boston, but my neighborhood corner store has Tasty Kakes. And since I can't keep more than a liter of alcohol in my room, for both my roommate and I combined, I can't really buy alcohol.

lucky you. my corner shop just across the road closed some years ago. first we had a supermaket and a newsagent, then the supermaket closed and the the newsagent became a corner shop, but he couldn'd make a go of it either. i do miss just popping across the road for milk bread, magazines etc. one benift is there however, my G P now occupies those premises.

You need to meet my dad, he always bought Norseman, Prism or some other brand of no frills lager! Basically anything so cheap that they practically paid you to take off their hands!
