I'm surprised that people still use Internet Explorer, let alone at university too. I've been using Mozilla for about two years now, it's ace. So yeah, what browser do you use?

Tabbed browsing mainly, saves having to open so many friggin' windows for different sites. Popup blocker, I rarely get popups. And you can block pictures from a certain site.
Tabbed browsing is ace.

You may be right about the tabbed browsing, but I still prefer the Internet Explorer. IE can block popups too.
And why would you want to block pictures from certain sites. Don't we visit certain sites mainly for the pictures? 
Opera in linux, tabbed browsing and scary quick rendering. Twitchy about some badly (ront page) written sites, especially using javascript. So I always keep Mozilla Firefox around. For reading sites with a LOT of text I use Konqueror the KDE browser cos it's the only one I've EVER used on which the user stylesheet actually works at all ( I use light green on dark green, easy on the eye), hell it even overrides NOOL!
In windows I rarely use the net, the net's just too dangerous to XP. When I HAVE to, I use opera or firefox again. IE is ONLY used for sites so badly written that only it can render them (and yes they are badly written cos the w3c validation engine invariably says they are so corrupt it doesn't even know whay protocols to check). Ie is too slow, far to old fashioned and knows all the best ways to let websites destroy yout computer.

I use Mozilla on my laptop. I have to use a very high resolution, and that makes everything a bit tiny. But with Ctrl + in Mozilla, I can zoom the screen. That is ace!
And the tabbed browsing is ace to.
But I have some hangups from time to time, wich I don't get with IE6.

I don't use the picture blocker, I was just mentioning other features. And stop being weird over liking IE over Mozilla.

Honestly, can you imagine a 3 GhZ amiga with 2 gig of ram and a gfx card 100 times faster than the toaster (PC STILL looks like shit compared to old amiga made stuff like babylon5).
An amiga of that spec would have deduced the nature of income tax and rice pudding before anyone could turn it off. it would almost certainly have become self aware in no time too.
Mind you, Icould do without 4 HD's and 2 external DVD units all doing "Amiga drive clacking"
Firefox. Love the tabbed browsing, and the ad-block is quite useful, I used it on this site for an oversized avatar that someone had used, one of a T-rex, that stretched the page out . Was also useful so that I didn't have to see the visual evidence of Diamond Lights again....
Mozilla too… I'm very happy with it, and it's "working" most of the time.

I drool at the thought of a 3 ghz amiga! just for the multitasking alone. Christ it was shit hot on 14 mhz processor :) My mate is doing a computer science degree and has built an amiga box to show all the young 'uns what a real computer can do :) They are slowly becoming believers!
Firefox on both my boxes, IE on occasions of necessity, lynx on occasions of necessity. Opera used to be a browser I used, still really more satisfied with FF. IE 7 will have tabbed browsing, but they should have already instituted it and it's just ridiculous they have been so far behind the times.

i'd probably use firefox more if it wasnt for it having some bug on my linux box where it rocks the cpu to 100% (100 FAKE % I may add) while rendering.
I use FIREFOX.Didn't know about the ctrl/+ though.Just tried it for my tired eyes and i can read what i wrote.What a load of SHITE!

A gentoo issue? Being that I run the lesser demon of fedora core, I haven't noticed much that has a problem aside from the autorpm updater.. but with my connection and what I use that computer for, it's not too much an issue. Ubuntu has given the mister a problem lately, so he's relegated back to a more stable workup of FC, too.
this all said, talking about that amiga box made my toes wiggle. I'd love to see a really jacked up Amiga fly these days.

An A500 still has better multitasking than even a pc running Linux :D....windows users, stay very quiet ok! Truly exceptional machine...and that's from a sworn enemy (cut me in half you see a little picture of mount fuji).
As for firefox, no it aint gentoo, other people get it too, some even in Dos-XP....utterly buggered if I know what it's problem is, do use it in Dos about as much as Opera, but I fear letting Xp near the net at all. Opera is cooler for zooming as it can zoom the entire page, text and images and do so quicker :D
Internet Explorer 6 obviously... if I want trap browsing, I can either install a plugin, or install the latest beta of Internet Explorer 7, which will have them.
I do have Firefox (wonder why people refer it as "Mozilla" here.. it's like saying I'm using Microsoft!), and I do use it on some purpose and to test the development of this website.

Well, it can be done in IE as well.. just use the scroll wheel while pressing the CTRL key!

Thanks for the info.
I've started using Firefox to avoid spyware and virus issues. Another reason is that Firefox's popup blocker is one of the best out there. Firefox is also better for playing Hattrick. It has officially become my browser of choice.
