I don't really like fish either, but I must admit that when I travel east on the coast and you do get fish out of a place on a dock, it's quite interesting....
Fresh fish IS good.. it has nothing to do with what you get at the supermarket.
But I'm not a fish fan ;)

When I was a kid one of my favorite things to eat was 'chinese pie', made with ground beef, sweetcorn and mashed potatoes. I thought it was something my mom came up with till I found a reference to 'pate chinois' in a cookbook a few years back. I never realised it was a traditional Quebec dish, but it makes sense as my stepdad was French-Canadian.
I've started making it again (with veggie mince), very yummy! 
i don't know if australia actually has any kind of national cuisine yet. currently they are big on what they call fusion i e a mix of asian and european. i suppose you could call the meat pie an aussie dish.
i should say we don't actually eat kangaroo here. we so shoot the buggers. the only place i actually ate roo was in germany.
as for the german stuff, i just love dumplings, sauerkraut and sausages.
I'll eat a cheese steak, but only if it's vegetarian - they do exist, believe me. I like soft pretzels, especially if they're not frozen from the box. Scrapple is nasty. Tasty Kakes are the best thing Philly has:
The Coconut Juniors, Butterscotch Krimpets, and Banana creme pies are the best.
And as I've said before, nothing beats Canada Dry creme, black cherry, or pineapple sodas.
Seafood? Cow? Wild Game? All fit in with things regional here.
Um, there're these danish hotdogs that are encased in red dyed intestine that I'm absolutely addicted to, and I get them from a large Danish transplant community down south. Green boiled peanuts are a roadside delicacy in the southern American states.
My area's such a melting pot of cultures that I ate a few things my parents grew up on and the rest of my dietary needs were fulfilled by the thousands of immigrants from all over that settled in our area. Wasn't a day someone didn't bring over a new dish for us to try, and us likewise with them.
I'd say barbecue is a local dish, but some people may say Texans don't do it properly (I've learned that sauce turns out to be the biggest argument in the barbecue circuit.)

The english name is Sheppard's pie though... relation to chinese is because this was the meal given to chinese workers who built the railroad....

I remember I went by train to a village just for my friend's shashlik that his dad was making on that day...

i had mince moose pie in toronto
