how much for a tooth extraction ?

I reckon I got me hat nailed on Friday last ,

£40 for a tooth out

Paid upfront for a filling @ £75 a pop and a general cleanup / polish etc @ just shy of £50.

So the Garymac coffers have been depleted by just shy of £165 .

So have I had me eye wiped or are dentists / orthodontists even pricier 'round your way .

Last one I had out was £40 - a top wisdom that had got infected. That was at least five years ago, but was darn sarf so £40's about right for oop norf now.

My cousin Delmer and me run a dental care center out of the back of his truck, we usually charge 'bout six bucks per tooth (the Jack Daniels we use for anasthetic don't come cheap). Just met us out by the docks around midnight, bring an extra $20 if you want Delmer to use his electric drill (usually he has a wrench and some rusty nails to scrape out the damage). And don't call the cops, no matter what happens. We got to avoid that law-man if we's gonna get Delmer's trailer back from the Repo man

I couldn't afford a dentist on my student budget, so I just waited until the tooth crumbled away. Problem solved.

Over here , correct me if this has changed , students get free or subsidised nhs care ,and if one has enough desperation the Dental university will treat ( they dont like to use the word practice until they've passed their exams at which point they begin to practice ) one for free , last resort stuff I think , ourkid had to use their services a few Christmases ago , said he had whiskey older than the dental student:\ohwell:

i got registered with a dentist on the NHS last year,it cost me £23.00 for 5 teeth out,now that's mega cheap...

Nothin' free or subsidized here. The dental uni also treats at low cost here, but when I called, they said get in line.

Considerin' the emergency nature of the situation, they then referred me to a low cost clinic they run for the poor. So I went there, got some X-Rays, and was told they could yank it for $40, or I could go elsewhere for a root canal. Well, my best mate had some teeth yanked, and it ended up doing her a lot more harm than good, so I went home to think about it. Called round to lots of dentists to see what a root canal would cost, tried to find a way to come up with the money, then... the tooth died a merciful death, the pain went away, and over the course of a few months, it just crumbled away.

for some reason (money) dental health is just about the only branch of medicine not covered by our public medicare scheme. that would be just about the only reason i would join a private health fund here. luckily my teeth are in good nick, and i don't ususally see a dentist more than once every couple of years. i do have one more wisdom tooth that should probably come out sometime, but its currently not causing any real pain.

So, they're either a woman, a gay or a different race. As either women and gays might have (very occasionally) 32 teeth, I conclude they are a different race. I'm in a scheme called DenPlan. Pay about £11 a month but any treatments, check-ups, etc. all covered. Saves messing about. Anybody want their teeth knocking out, i'll gladly do it.
