Some sicko in our tower decided to play Ten whilst I was in the kitchen.

Ya live in a tower ? Like Rapunzel ?

University halls of residence. I'm on the 10th floor of a 20 floor block of flats.

do people hold the lift door open,by inserting a matchstick next to the button , to piss the top floor folks off ?

Never thought about that. There is the odd weirdo who sometimes presses all the buttons before leaving. Thankfully we have two lifts, one for even and one for odd floors.

Last December they did their first gigs in Brazil ever, I went to see them in a 40.000 people crowd here in Rio, PJ is my girlfriend #1 band, and I couldn't escape of going.

All I can say is that there were no regrets, I was truly amazed by their performance (they DO play very well) and respect for their fans.

And the best of all, they ended the 2-hour gig with an excelent version of Baba O'Riley.

if you want talk about bland american shite, lets not forget bland english shite such as oasis. A couple of ounces of creativly got dripped away in their first couple of albums. Its a shame because i used to like them.

Pearl Jam as i stated before , i rather put my head in the oven then listen to them. Quite franly, i dont like their arena rock songs, and hate grunts called vocals.

I thought I was the only one who dislikes them. They're so overrated.

time and a place for everything. this isn't PJs official site. why go any further? edit- diversity.evrybody obviously can- respectfully- have their own beliefs tastes.

Their first 5 albums are quality, though massively overplayed. Used to be my favorite band back in about...er...1994.

Adam Sandler's turn as Eddie Vedder says it all. :D

for a "grunge" band, they're not too bad.

Well, I gotta say Eddie's got a lot of his priorities straight, especially in reference to PJ's battles with Ticketbastard. Plus, I like the fact they almost always have some of their fave bands opening for them (Sleater-Kinney, Frank Black on the tour I saw back in 98, etc.) I did buy that last concert DVD they did, one reason is cause they brought the guy from Aussie band Hunters & Collectors onstage to help PJ perform a H&C track.

Can't say that I'm a fan of the newer stuff (haven't actually heard it, so that opinion could change), but I had a great time at their show, I think they've got a good sense of humour that maybe doesn't show in some of their records. Plus, who else could get their corporate record label to release so many live discs???? :thumb:

It's pretty good, not radically different from the original, I bought one of those myriad live albums. E-mail me, maybe I can sort something out.

they've released that many albums? i bought ten when it first came out, then i remember the next one with 'daughter' on it (didn't buy it). they have that many albums!

two of my friends (two of the other agents) got VIP tickets through work to see them at madison square garden in 2004. they got piss drunk in the VIP box and fell asleep on the floor--never saw the band play. none of us knew they were still around, much less playing MSG!

i have to admit to never really getting grunge. to me it seemed such a retrograde step in music. plus me being a new order fan the music was just too far removed from my tastes.
