I don't.I never enjoy watching him.He overacts and it alway seems forced.Didn't like him in 24HPP or Life On Mars.He wasn't bad in that series The Lakes form a few years back but that's it.Oh well, rant over:)

One silly question about 24hpp though..

I'm pretty sure I saw Simm holding a cig in the movie but I don't think Barney has ever smoked.

What's that all about then?

I like John Simm, very watchable..but his partner in Life On Mars gets all the best lines.I don't know his name but he is superb,as is the show itself.

He didn't really replicate the Barney-circa-1981 Zombie Stare very well.

Yeah and I always thought he looked kinda too healthy and innocent for one Barney, haha

I still would though :ignore:

I seem to recall Hooky making noises about the tale of Steve nicking Ian's fags, being transfered onto him in the film cos he didn't smoke.

I rather like JS, he's an enjoyable chap to watch and very natural....never gonna be a BIG guy tho.

And Kershaw, Chris ants us to videotape her lesbian romp...WTF is WRONG with you man....you should be skipping down the street like a spring lamb on 6 doves.

LOL Miserable scouse git :D

At a bizarre club in Shoreditch called The Whirlygig in the early nineties,
I ended up sitting at a table with Mr Simm and his then bird, Steven Macintosh, the bloke who played the Buddah of Suburbia, Martin Clunes and David Threlfall. They were all there cos my friend had a reputation for some fantastic pills.

Out of all of them, John Simm was the nicest, most down to earth bloke you could possibly meet.

Martin Clunes was an arrogant cock. David Threlfall was a hardened alcoholic (even then), and Steven Macintosh was very quiet, but turned out to be the best actor out of all of them.

I'm kinda surprised John never ended up doing Corrie.

naveen andrews? he's on 'lost' now, playing a former member of the iraqi republican guard.

going back to the accent debate we had earlier, i wonder how well he does--a brit of south asian descent playing an arab and having to speak arabic with an iraqi accent. hmmmm. anyway, back to john simm.

Geez, I don't have BBC America anymore and I've only seen him in 24HPP. I was disappointed that he played Bernard, especially the fact that he doesn't look like him (heck, none of the actors looked like any of JD/NO members) and that he spoke a couple of lines. Maybe just looking at him would be fine. Still, as an Angel, his portrayal of Bernard insults me.

As for the question, I don't know...:uhoh:

i like the lad. the main problem i have with him in 24hpp is that he has the barney new order hairstyle even in joy division, but that isn't his fault.

I must admit I had never heard of this guy until this topic came up.

I guess I'll have to cruise BBCAmerica for some clips of this lad's work.

I was about to say I rented it, but then I realized that I rented it from a shop that specializes in foreign films... Hmmm.

And now that I think about it, I think I still have some credits there...
