Once upon a time in America
Godfathers 1 and 2 Donnie Brasco Carlito's way
and if I can stretch the genre a little to include :
Get Carter ( original ) Villain Rififi and The long good friday
All stand repeated viewings
Oh , and I like Brando's self parody / piss take in the Freshman
Geez, I have so many.
Goodfellas, Mean Streets, The Untouchables, Carlito's Way, Scarface, Once Upon a Time in America, City of Industry, Donnie Brasco, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, etc. Note that all of the films that I've mentioned have Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, or Harvey Keitel in them.
I've seen Casino ten times. It's good, but not one of my favorites. It's a flat-out imitation of Goodfellas (with the pause feature and the voice-over narration). The film is worth every minute, but I just can't bear the scene where Joe Pesci is in bed with Sharon Stone. That's deplorable. :dead:

Love all of the films mentioned so far, Casino is a personal fave cause my uncle was stationed at Nellis AFB in Vegas during the same time period of the movie, and were in fact around the corner when the attempt on the life of the real-life Rothstein was made. So, partly due to that fact, I've been able to watch Casino numerous times with my grandmother (RIP), she wasn't thrilled with the parts such as Pesci and his brother getting whacked, but she understood that just went along with the turf.....![]()

Goodfellas was on Cinemax last night, I still can't NOT watch it, so I watched most of both the east and west coast airings.....
On edit: Though I haven't seen it in a long while, I thought the Krays movie with the Kemp twins wasn't too bad.
Cath, thanks for mentioning White Heat. Cagney is great, including in Public Enemy and Angel with Dirty Faces.

Hmm. I think I need to add some of these titles to my list of movies to rent.
I was always a fan of the Godfather movies myself.

Never been able to listen to "Danny Boy" in the same light since seeing that film. Quality.

Mate of mine made me watch it KNOWING it wasn't my style....but WHAT a scene that is.
And so is...the thing about, (misquoting) "I aint gonna kill ya, cos then if you was lyin to me I wouldn't get to kill you for that"....then....."you know what...I believe you " BANG!
Pricless :D

Depends on who you ask. Personally I think it's crap.

i just couldn't get into miller's crossing. i think it's one of the coen brothers weakest films, myself.

its ok.
but the fashions, and Al Pacino's dumb ass latino accent grate on you after a while.
Michelle was hot though. :p
Dude, Scarface is the bomb in my opinion! Al Pacino strutted his stuff to create the most famous low-life who achieves the American Dream. Plus, Al says that Tony Montana is his favorite role. I have to hand it to him. ![]()
