Why I've Been Absent Lately

You all may have noticed that my post count has gone down quite a bit over the past couple of weeks, and whereas normally I'd have twenty or so posts to my credit per day on average before, lately it's been more like a 1/2 of a post per day. Or whatever, I'm not good at math :banghead:

Anyway, I've been busy with school as it is midterm season (and apart from carrying a "C" average in Spanish, I'm doing very well tank you veddy much). Also, my computer has been under assault from some nice spam and pop-ups every time I get online for more than an hour lately, so that tends to temper my willingness to hang around until somebody feels like doing another "top five" list (note: that was not an invitation for someone to actually start that trend back up again) :p

And mostly, I've been unsure how to bring up the whole mess that is my love-life at this point. But I guess I just did, so to recap:

On Valentines, I told my best friend at work that I had a crush on her, but figured being her friend was good enough for now. A few days later, still in the buzz of that, I noticed that a lot of my coworkers were suddenly asking me if I was going to ask her out, or if I had already. When I denied that I had (because really, I hadn't), I learned that she had been the one to say I had.

Which means, now that I think about it, maybe I should have gone for it and done so. But I didn't. :banghead:

So last weekend, I tried to just have a typical conversation with her while going to lunch. She kinda brushed me off, or maybe she was just having a bad day and taking it out on everyone around her. Whatever, I figured she didn't feel like talking to me, so I respected that all weekend and kept my distance. And of course, the only (only) reason I still work there is to be around her, so that wasn't fun. And then I heard through some friends that her boyfriend is really a nice guy...actually, no, he's as big of an asshole as I thought he was. He's a lazy, jealous, possessive, and prone to fighting upstanding citizen of the community. And I'm guesisng he knows about me and her and all that, because while I was blocking the frozen food section on Sunday he and a pal came down the aisle and I could tell through my peripheral vision that he was "intimidating" me or trying to. Because I take it he doesn't much care for other guys hitting on his girl (or standing near her, or talking to her just in normal conversation, or breathing in the same air as her). And I'm afraid that when he runs out of phantom "rivals" to beat up...he might turn on her :nonono:

So yeah, I've had a busy past couple of weeks

But I'll try and come by more often. I feel like starting a "top five ways to convince my friend that she shouldn't be with her boyfriend and be with me instead" thread :D

Anyway, got a midterm this afternoon, but I'll be back later :thumb:

maybe if you offered to take her to a NO gig, she'd' go out with you.

And if she refused, you can always say to yourself "It wouldn't have worked...it was a sign."

But if she said yes, well, then, she's a keeper! :thumb:

Good luck on midterms. Thankfully I will never have to revisit them again.

Sounds like the final episode of the Office. Hell, he got the girl in that episode.

I'm too stuck on her right now (no pun intended) to really think about anyone else. But I know from past experience that if things don't go the way I'd like, at some point I'll get over her and find someone else...

Someone like Carmen Electra

Anyway, don't count me out yet... ...okay, now

I have of late--but wherefore I know not--lost all my mirth, forgone all custom of exercises; and indeed it goes so heavily with my disposition that this goodly frame, the earth, seems to me a sterile promontory, this most excellent canopy, the air, look you, this brave o'erhanging firmament, this majestical roof fretted with golden fire, why, it appears no other thing to me than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapours. What a piece of work is a man! how noble in reason! how infinite in faculty! in form and moving how express and admirable! in action how like an angel! in apprehension how like a god! the beauty of the world! the paragon of animals! And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? man delights not me: no, nor woman neither.

I was thinking of maybe looking around for another job, if things got too uncomfortable. Then I remembered that I live in a county with 90% unemployment. And I have car payments, college tuition, etc, etc

Still, surely the nearby Ingles stores in Clemson or Seneca could use an experienced frozen/dairy guy...

Only as a last resort, of course

That store have an ice making machine K-Fed Junior could "fall into and accidentally lock for about a month"? :evil4:

At least you tried.

No women at your college that are worthy of your interests?

As long as you don't wear a neon sign on your forehead that says "Please notice me" around her, it should be all right.

You know, women like an air of mystery in their men...

I actually got an "A" on the Spanish grammar test that I thought I'd fucked up earlier this week, so....that means nothing as far as my love life goes :p

It's not that I haven't noticed other girls (believe me, I have :evil4: ) but it's a little soon to be thinking about it (at least for me). There's still the tiny, insignificant, miniscule sliver of hope there (because I think she's just as crazy about me, but stuck in a crappy relationship because I didn't make a move fast enough). The fact is, I want her to be happy, and I don't think that she is with "K-Fed Junior" (thanks for that, Comrade). She's with him, yes, and she likes him. But she could do better.

That's all for today on that front, I'm just psyched about the Spanish test coming up roses :hat:
