That reminds me. Last year, I was taking a fiction class and in a story I wrote, a character who had ambiguous sexuality was casually listening to NO at one point. In class, a classmate of mine said, "Of course he's gay. He's listening to New Order. They're a gay club band."

You've got the point. It seems only in America there's a "gay" issue. Everyone wants to know if you're gay. Everyone comments immediately if something is "gay" and so on. Never encountered such an obcession with gay definitions anywhere but the States. True :(
