Hello peeps! Back from me 55 mile charity walk. God that taxi was expensive! Set off at 9pm on Friday night from Manchester Uni.There were 90 people doing the walk,89 of them were students. God the snow! as far as they eye could see.At least it was easier on the feet and a feast for the eyes.We were talking picture postcard. Worse was walking through Rusholme,a mile of curry houses and kebab houses...and I've got a Fruit & Nut! I was armed with plasters, paracetomol a couple of Mars Bars.My idea of travelling light. Came back through Hazel Grove and ten chavs came out of kebab house chanting footie songs.I naturally crossed the road,to chants of "that poof with rucksack...where yer walking?" It was 1.30am,where was open that night to be stil getting pissed in? Was in front most of the way till Didsbury when a couple of student from Liverpool Uni JOGGING (?!) caught me up,and were walking/jogging into town, then on NORTH leg of walk. Got to a point I thought,I'm burning candle at both ends here."Nah you go on mate,I'll catch you up" Saturday morning was gorgeous, sun was up and snow was melting of the trees, that fine rain that gets you wet. Hard going back through Salford into Manchester.I was a bit hobbly, but I got back 2.45pm...17 3/4 hours it took me.Personal best 18 1/2 last year. Got a lift of student who ran me home to my door. Still recovering.Julie says I'm walking like John Wayne!

Thanks everyone who helped out.The final total going to Cancer Research, majority pledged by NOOLers is...

£ 126.00 !!!!

Here's some embarrasing pictures of me with frozen crows on my nose! THANKS EVERYONE,YOU'RE ACE

Heh heh, that's my old neck of the woods! When I used to live in a bedsit in Crumpsall,it was like suburbia, then you turn a corner and it's curry half-mile!! :food:

Didn't come that way though,I walked up Oldham Road past Royal Mail and the Wing Yip,right up to Hollinwood and cut down Victoria Avenue towards Heaton Park and Whitefield,my current neck of the woods.Would have popped home for a cuppa but I had to catch up to these two scousers who stole my lead. The kids of today!
