It's been good that you have been quite an attraction for a week. I hope someone appreciates you as much as I have. Thanks to my discovery of ceramic painting, it has become a hobby. I know that there is someone who needs you more than I do. I'll preserve your memory in my avatar.

Smash it up and put it in the bottom of a plant pot. Will aid drainage, and fuck up the archeologists of the future.
BIGINOIL, please read my message either on the "Check my avatar out" thread or "Who should design the next NO album sleeve." It's for a charitable cause. ![]()

Don't forget.. to be worth something to a charitable cause, the object needs to be valued.![]()
Donated... to be auctioned? Or do you know of a poor person who has a specific need for a New Order trivet?![]()
Ya might be lucky and get an Eskimo with a sense of humour come long, needing a capstone for his igloo.
I don't know what's going to happen during the donation. I'll let you know tomorrow night after my meeting.
Emma Peel wrote: who knows? Maybe Burt will be the anonymous donor who decides to buy your art work. :)
I'm sure I have some Deutschmarks in a tin somewhere. Perhaps I should get them valued first, just in case.:\ohwell:
Got back from the meeting an hour ago. The trivet won't be donated until the week after Spring Break. I looked at other people's ceramics, and mine stood out. I wonder if someone can understand my trivet, while others did spots, stripes, stars, and flowers.
Anyway, the important thing is that it would be donated soon.
[magenta]cozmonite61[/magenta] wrote: Well, I guess I have to grab a marker and write "FRAGILE" on the box multiple times.
You really are a creative genius aren't you, cozzy - a perfect idea for the next NO album sleeve - it could just come in a big cardboard box, with NO written in marker on the side... I think you should move away from ceramics and onto cardboard...

If your DMs don't cover the reserve price Burt, I'm sure we could get a consortium going to fund the purchase of this important piece of art history...

indeed... this piece holds a speicla importance for me... why, at least a third of my posts have had something to do with cozzy's trivet (that sounds slightly rude!)... It has given me much joy over the past week or so... Wherever it goes, I hope it finds love, respect and, above all peace...

Perhaps JP Getty or Maurice Saatchi will put in a bid.

perhaps, perhaps.
Hey, let cozzy keep the avatar - it'll be the only memory left of the masterpiece once it's gone to a better place...

you have a point.
I'll keep the picture of the avatar. I don't know how the donation process works yet. Maybe I just give it to the oncology unit; I don't think money will be involved. I'll do some more pottery work when I get back from spring break.
[magenta]cozmonite61[/magenta] wrote: I'll do some more pottery work when I get back from spring break.
So where are you jaunting off to for spring break, cozzie? And what will be the next pottery project?
Perhaps a vase?

You gonna auction your masterpiece as well then Burt?

Unfortunately, I'm going home for spring break. I wanted to go to the New Order v. Duran Duran Cage Dancing event in Washington, D.C. until I got clarification that Barney is not going to be there. Plus, I am incredibly busy!
Now, speaking of pottery I'm thinking about doing two pieces. The first one would be a bisque of a pig. I'm thinking about painting the the words, "I think you are a pig, You should be in a zoo."
I want to do another flat surface painting. I could do a trivet displaying the cover design for Unknown Pleasures, but I'm debating whether I should paint a NO/JD tea set!

Nice pun, Snorri. I like the song, but I chose its opponent in the NO Cup poll (I have good taste). Jetstream now makes me laugh since it's Freudian. I can start a PC&L dish, but it wouldn't be the same.

True, best to move on... You could always work through the album covers - Movement in fabric, Brotherhood in metal, Low-Life in tracing paper and charcoals, Technique in dat-glo paint, Republic in photos, etc.
Snorri xxx
Thanx for your suggestions, Snorri. I would like to master in ceramic paint though. Brotherhood would be the easiest since I can use the slate color throughout. I'm still thinking...

I like Burts.. its functional. You can eat off it or hang it on a wall.
Cozzies well.. I would have to keep a hot pot on it.. its purely functional.

My retort:
Burt's- Good for aerodynamics function but will eventually experience wear and tear from ultimate frisbee, a dog, color fading from the sun, and other elements.
Cozmonite61- Yes, you can put a pot on it. But it would be better if a bottle of Pernod or absinthe takes its place. A good sign for a Barney's Angel like me :D

Thats part of the Joy Division toilet bowl lid. "She's Lost Control" plays when the seat is left up too long. Reminder to lower it before a woman accidentally sits on the cold porcelain without looking.
Right kiddies, off to set my Sunrise alarm and snuggle up under my Dreams Never End duvet...

are we sue its a trivet at all?
definitions i found by doing a quick search:
A metal stand with short feet, used under a hot dish on a table.
A three-legged stand made of metal, used for supporting cooking vessels in a hearth.

Well, if that's the case it's the worst trivet ever! Unless she meant it as a coaster/place mat... I thought trivet meant/had been mistaken for trinket... Whatever it is - it's unique...

I did look the word up a few days ago. When I went to the pottery shop, the piece was advertised as a "trivet". If you want to dispute on how words are created, go read Plato's "Cratylus".
