He's right though. Not that women can only be admired for bringing joy or beauty, (it IS something to be admired for mind), but a lot of women are are looked up to as heros are made into genderless human beings because they function in a patriarchal world. Women have to function "as men" to be noticed, when men and women have different inate qualities of leadership and relating to people--but all that is recognized and admired are "male" qualities. People who say men and women are the same don't bring women up to the same level as men. They are putting women down by trying to fit a round peg into a square whole that is historically and socially WRONG for anyone to try to fit into.

It's a thread about women you admire. The criteria you set are your own, so it could be a thread about the 3 hottest women if that's what you admire. My list had nothing to do with hotness quotient, nor did it have anything to do with women who exhibit “male values.” It had to do with women who left this world a better place than they found it.
If I were choosing women based on how hot they were, rather than on their contribution to the world, I would have chosen a different top three. However, the notion that my picks are “genderless” is all in the mind of the beholder. I happen to think Rosa Parks, for instance, was a very attractive woman, but that wasn’t the basis of my selection. If somebody else thinks Rosa Parks doesn’t measure up in the hotness department, that’s their own personal perception. And frankly, I think her hotness quotient is utterly irrelevant to her value as a human being.
But try explaining that to somebody whose criteria for Top Three Women are “a beautiful creature meant to bring joy and beauty in this world”—i.e., somebody who exists to serve his needs-- and who chose a Spice Girl for his second pick, and “I don’t know” for his third pick.
I originally tuned in to Kevin Hill, a US legal TV comedy/drama, as a result of the impressive wardrobe of the lead actor Taye Diggs. But Christina Hendricks was very much his equal. Modern Lady, but very colourful and different at the same time. Jaime Murray is another name to look out for.
I really ought to mention the current Everton Ladies F.C. captain, but apart from watching the F.A. Cup Final defeat against Charlton on the Beeb last Spring, I’ve only been keeping an eye on the league table on a sports news channel. When Charlton win their game in hand (there’s only three ladies teams worth noting in England according to recent stats), they will be third in the table – not good enough. I should point out that the gentlemen (and I’m only referring to the players here), will not finish higher than fourth this season. If you don’t follow footy, that is!
