mda (mda pro?) vs others HELP PLZ

As a lot of you know I do a lot of travelling for campaigns. Local travelling mostly doing advance work around the district but I'm becoming increasingly more active on the state and national levels. I do a lot of work on the go on trains and busses.

I currently have a sidekick (from which I'm writing this post). I like it, it does everything I *need* but not everything I want. (I am editing copy in the email client for example... It works but I'd like to be able to use a proper word processor) I'd also like the magic of bluetooth.

Tmobile over here just came out with the MDA which does what I want but it seems two issues have come up.

1. mda pro is supposedly sturdier but it's only out in europe
2. gprs coverage for tmobile is ok but tmobile's "total internet" is supposedly shoddy.

Does anyone know if the above is true? What's tmobile's coverage like in other parts of the country? (when I was in college I had trouble in westchester county ny of all places)

Also, could you recommend another phone/pda with email webbrowsing instant messengers and a word processor that's bluetooth?

Should I pack it in and get a tablet pc or something? It can't fit in me pocket though which is top priority heheh

i joined the bluetooth set last week...PURELY to get New Order from PC to phone so that my friends no longer get their calls answered as I'm bopping around to ceremony :D

T-mobile in the UK are alright, it's who I'm with and I stayed there despite having the chance to change when I got me new phone. Their coverage is god, but their signals wont go through muchin the way of obstructions :D

PDA with phone as modem is def a lot of hassle.
I had tmobile in the UK until I realized that vodafone was cheaper for prepaid (I was a peon with no status to get the contract).

I dunno here the coverage has been spotty since voicestream.. but I still like that I get more minutes.. and where I live is well covered.

I'm going out to vegas in a month for a conference and I'm worried about coverage in the middle of a desert ;)

TMobile sucks big wad for reliable coverage in the US. Sprint isn't reliable either. Verizon is the best for coverage but a little more expensive.

I'll take a survey with my friends who use their gadgets extensively and get back to you on this, CM, hopefully before midnight.

cdma i think it is the same. is about to be phased out here in the next couple of years. it is very poular in regional areas, as it provides good coverage. i don't know if this is the way of the future in your counrty as well.

Hmmm. The consensus says that Treo 700/650 might be your best bet. Or, you could go with Palm One Life Drive (but reviews on that device are mixed).

I had a very low density sample space (15 ppl). Still the majority agreed that Verizon is the best reliable wireless provider throughout the US.
