Well Katie is one of the hot L.A's. L.A's are Leisure Assistants (the ones that lifeguard the pool and generally help out/clean up around the leisure centre).

Explained?

Lifeguarding was great for me. Endless stream of entertainment, day in and out. Luxuriating in the sun, tweeting my whistle suggestively at other teenagers, listening to my own best loved tunes on the overhead system, and who can forget the near death experiences?

"We've got another kid who stuck his butt on the drain again! Brown torpedo in kiddie pool 1! Chlorine burn in the eyes of all the guest visitors!"

I personally favored the night time swimmers - a cooler lot and often had no qualms about nude water wrestling. :shades:

I used to be a lifeguard, although it was some time ago, if you let me know what the qualification is that you will be doing, I should be able to let you know some pointers. Send me an email, for fear of boring the pants of the others on this thread!!

Just found this and am aware you are already working now, but I'll contribute even though my timing was a bit slow.

Friend of mine is a lifeguard and she has a great time. I would recommend sticking to pools and stuff because ocans can get pretty intense. Aussie ones can anyway.

She has to deal with people who getting sort of stabbed with other peoples surfboard fins and old men who have heart attacks in the surf. People also cut themselves on all sorts of random stuff which you cant identify and get stung by stuff that doesnt hang around long enough to be identified which makes it tricky. Also, people are reluctant to get out of the water in a shark warning - goodness knows why.

Stick to the leisure centre mate:thumb:
