I don't know much of Mac OSX, but I somehow start to believe Steve Jobs is secretly working for Microsoft.

Looks a bit more like KDE or Gnome...depends whose stuff he's chosen to "embrace and extend" (trans:"steal and break").

Looks kinda sweet, especially IE FINALLY getting a MDI. I got a virtual desktop layer emulating Vista to try out, it crashed LOL.

The install media is like 2GB!!!!

now some linux distro's are that size, but they typically ship with around 5-10,000 apps+ source. the mind boggles as to how an atrocious mail client, a semi-stadards-compatible browser and a media(can't)player can take up 2Gb. I also shudder to think how big a PC I'll need to be able to do exotic stuff like drag icons in real time. Maybe he'll surprise me and have spent time optimizing and correcting code instead of just shovelling more and more half working "features" into it.

I also wonder how long it'll be before my win-luddite-32 mentallity lets me actually switch to vista.....Xp took 4 years and 3 trial installs before I finnally gae in and accepted the performance hit( games are approx 50% slower, cubase seems to be a little down on horsepower too, but i'm happy enough cos it don;t crash as often)) in payment for stabilty.

PS....that visualization on the mdia player is tragic, even winamp on Xp can beat piss out of that.

this year, and next year, and the year after that...should be working about 6 months before the next version comes out in 2009 :D

I'll get my (open source woven) coat :D:D:D
