Thank fcuk.
Cos then all us old 'uns still get say to the young whippersnappers, "Ah, I saw the Smith in their day".
Read it and weep! :p

Ditto The Stone Roses. I've dined out on my "last ever appearance as the original four piece" tale for 16 years now. Glasgow Green, a balmy summers night in 1990......I remember it like it were yeasterday!

err original 4 piece line up? they were a five piece mate! squire, brown, reni, andy couzens & pete garner originally. couzens left in 87 followed by garner who was replaced by mani.
saw em in 89 just before the album came out. great live band.
As Liam pointed out, this has been known for years. Anyone with even a passing familiarity with Morrissey and Marr relations since the end of the band in '87 and the fairly destructive court case that followed must know they'll never reform. Definitely not hard to miss, as a "will you reform?" question has been in just about every interview since they split and they've always equally dismissed it.
Andy Rourke didn't even invite Mike Joyce to play at Manchester vs Cancer because he feared it would upset Marr. So, putting Morrissey aside, even the other three can't share a stage together without there being irreconcilable differences.
Can't get much clearer than that!

Don't be pedantic Hibbel!
OK. I'll re-phrase....
"The 'classic' four piece line-up of Brown, Squire, Mountfield and Wren".
You never did tell me how to use those RAR files....
better! if you've still got them you just need to get winrar (surprised you don't have it) it's just a compression utility, like winzip, you then use winrar to extract it to the mp3s.
If the Smiths reunited, the earth would hurtle into the sun. Then heaven knows we'd all be miserable then :p

Is it just me, or does 5 mil sound like a small offer? Something like the Smiths reuiniting would bring hoards of fans in. You know people would fly from everywhere to see it once. With that said, it seems like a piddly offer, maybe just some hype for publicity for the concert???
JHC
would take more than £5M to make most bands play alongside DM wouldn't it? ![]()
interesting "interview" of mozzer by douglas copeland in this months OMM

RIMSHOT??!!!?? What is this, gay porn?
I know the reunion is not possible anyway, yet I feel stupid for posting a thread about it because it was on Yahoo. :\ohwell:

Thats my point...
You're not redundant, Cozzie.
I nearly voted against TPK, just so you call me names again.
I still might, actually. Any idea what you'd call me? Might help make my mind up...

Well, not Norwegian Blue any more, by the looks of things... TPK is against ATW isn't it... Not so heinous a crime to vote for that one... Maybe we could start a poll to chose which insult Cozzie can hurl at you this time? FOr what it's worth, I've always thought 'Fuckwit' was a terribly erudite appelation...

But I liked it when Cozzie called me a dunce.
She does have a way with words, I'll grant... And trivets...

What do you mean "nearly," Biggy? Oh yeah, I forgot. You "accidently" voted for Vietnam. ![]()
