Has anyone seen the "New Cars"? According to their website two of the original members of the Cars, Elliot Easton and Greg Hawkes, are reforming the band to tour with Todd Rungren as lead singer. They are opening up for Blondie this summer for dates across the US.

Nope...Ocasek wants nothing to do with this...and with Benjamin Orr having died, I can't see how good tihs is going to be...saw a video of the new cars doing a song, and it was DREADFUL...

I went to another concert at the Hard Rock Live venue in Orlando and they were teasing this like it was the real Cars. An ad appeared in the local paper and that led me to their website. I can't stand it when bands try to re-start without at least most of the original members. The Cars were my introduction to the whole alternative music scene.

I really like Todd Rundgren's older stuff, but it's weird that he's attempting to be a Ric Ocasek sound-alike now with this. I saw a New Cars video and found it pretty unconvincing. :\ohwell:

Ben Orr dead??? So they have the keyboardist and drummer...

The other two should form a new band and play new material.

new cars are more fuel efficient safer, and more comfortable than old cars.
