Having said that, I have a ticket for my team on Sunday, but I cant be arsed, I've arranged to watch it with mates in the pub instead. Fuckin all-seater stadiums. Shite.

you have time to travel several thousand miles to go to the equivalent of cup games, which sell out months and months ahead of time? and then make it to the next game a thousand miles away for the tip-off ten minutes later? WOW!

it's not a quick 4-hour jaunt from deeply soothing to chipping idol for a match. we're talking london to istanbul in some cases here. with 3 tip-offs the same night that we all want to watch. and it's only the, what, quarterfinals?

and there are LOADS of football commentaries on here, BA.

cup games...

on another note. Why is it no fans can be arsed following their teams in cup games?

I'm starting to believe Al's premiership 'spastic' theory.

I just dont understand how poor cup game attendances are.

Apart from one certain club

First prem 70,000 plus crowd this Sunday...:deal:

EDIT: my ticket for this Sunday got sold to a mate. No empty seats at my club.

BA, it's college basketball. NCAA championships. not the professional game!

i know a woman who went to the university of florida who has only missed 3 home football (american football) games since 1983. but if you live far away, you usually settle for television (if it's broadcast). my school wouldn't make the championships if hell froze over!

and as far as following teams for cup matches (i'm talking footie here) if it were me the answer would be money, most likely. also, time off work.

no way. more exciting than the professional game, IMO. the men are playing for the love of the game rather than for a big paycheck (which they will get when they join the NBA, of course). there aren't as many huge egos and there's more team spirit. it's the only american sport i can get into--very fast-paced and fun to watch. i'm not really into the NBA.

edit: speaking of the NBA, i dare you to tell the 7-foot-tall chinese player yao ming that basketball is a 'girl's game.' :evil4:

except the Rodman, Pippen, Jordan Bulls. You just never knew what was going to happen next...except they would win.
