At work...weight watchers is coming in to do fat club. It's 135 dollars for 10 weeks, which is kinda dear but not really, I suppose. It's cheap for the product, but not a product I'd spend money on normally.

Here's the thing: it would be a good work-sponsored excuse to not work for an hour every week for 10 weeks wouldn't it?

Steve's almost sister:"I have to go get ready for fat club" Steve "looks like yer already mnore than ready for it pet" (there followed comments regarding her arse having a postcode and the last ciggie someone threw her missing, but entering orbit round her)

It really depends on whether sweating in pink spandex is preferable to grappling with the mental stresses of daily office life.

In that case, there's only one question.

Where dya sign up?

At worst it's a skive and at best it's a chance to take the piss out of neurotics :D

EDIT: weight watchers is yet another "not available in NI" hopeless causes I assume.

I thought it said 'Fan Club At Work'! That would be cool... I have a deep-rooted suspicion of these sorts of things - I know they work for some people, but... Save the money and just try and find some way to slack off for an hour a week instead... :)

I was thinking either WWII Japanese POW camp diet or drinking water from Mexico would be the quick and easy way to drop a few pounds.

Stop eating and exercise. Eat slow if you must eat. Lots of fiber. No booze.

Thankfully, I don't have to worry about issues re: fat and weight loss, but if I did, I wouldn't join a program at work. Not unless work paid for the program. Then, I'd probably do it?

No, wait, I still wouldn't do it. You must keep your work life and your personal life separate at all costs, in my book.

And that was a reading from the Gospel according to Emma. :)

Proper diet and walking is how I keep my weight at 125 lbs.

don't you have to do some weird thing with points for tracking food intake with the weight watchers program?

Too much hassle for this lass. I'll just keep watching what I eat without tallying the points. Much less hassle.

Good point.

Weightwatchers is dead easy, and works. I've been on it since January and have lost 22lbs pretty easily, and haven't had to give up alcohol!

If you can do 40 minutes in the gym three times a week you can eat and drink what you like. I'm a testament to that. Dropped from 15 stone (and looked about 25!!) to 12 in four months back in 2001 and I've gained zip since then.

A 20 minute fast run on the treadmill followed by 20 mins on the weights every Mon, Wed and Fri. Allows me to lead the decadent lifestyle I always have but to look f***in ace at the same time :evil4:

I walk lots and move around a great deal (I don't drive) but I guess I should actually go to the gym. I don't care much about my weight (I'm a friggin babe). I was just thinking of taking advantage of this at work....

because maybe if I don't take advantage of it, I won't go to the gym.

mind you, unless they drive me back and forth and watch me...even if i pay 135 dollars I may not go to the gym

A friggin babe? That's quite a high standard.

I think that calls for a full-length picture of yourself in a "friggin babe" pose, CM! Got the goods? Dare ya!

Skinny?!!! Who wants to be skinny? I'm buff mate. Anyway enough of this. I'm a bit uncomfortable with the thought of some fella I've never met thinking too hard about my physique. Must be the homophobe in me.
