is right Chris.
I was aware of this, and will pop down to HMV during me dinner. Whats all this shit about postponement of the gigs? Why? any news Chris.
Raven isn't touring with them. He's joining Ministry for their tour, so the dates have been put back.
He made a post on the (defunct) Killing Joke forum saying 'Raven will not be touring on the Hose Anus Tour. Remember Iceland?'
Looks like they've fallen out again.

And congrats on 2000 posts.![]()
ta mate.
what do you mean the now defunct message board thingy. Why is that? Is Joker still ok? haven't been on the site for ages.

There were too many incidents of hatred spilling onto the board. A rumour was started that a former poster had committed suicide (this poster had been harassing members on the board), so a few people began to blame Jester for it. Eventually, it was proven to be wrong, but there was still a nasty atmosphere around the place at times.
Another incident was where a first time posted (calling himself 'Commie Killer') enquired about US dates. A few members were insulted by the name, stated a shouting match with Jester and left the board. Trivial incidents.
Coupled with his chemotherapy, he chose to shut down the messageboard and not update the main page of the site.

And I thought this site was bad.
Fuck that's bad mate. it wasn't that smart-arsed prick who virtually took over the board at one point. forget his name. from southampton or somewhere. Sorry meant jester not joker.
anyway, what's the album like? i buy today? seeing as i'm an expert in KJ's music and i aint heard nowt off the new record yet, what's the best track in your opinion, and i shall tell you tomorrow if you are correct. haha. cheers.

Lord Moloch? No, he got kicked out in January, for saying he wished Jester a slow and painful death. I'm sure that was what got the ball rolling.
It was a clique of members who started the trouble, and they now have their own messageboard where they're moderators. Wouldn't go near it.

Just going out to buy it, but the b sides to Hossanas: Universe B and Afterburner are great.
This is a great album. Uncommercial, similar to Pandaemonium in it's Eastern touches. Geordie is on fine form, Jaz's screams are at a whole new level, and Benny fits in great with Raven.
Invocation a current fave.

Benny Boy is an awesome drummer. one of the best right now.
However, Pandemonium is a shithouse album imo. like Black Moon, and one or two others. but its weak.
Best quality album is Night Time. without a shadow of a.
can't wait to get home now and spin it. but what the fucks all that Biblical artwork about? Sense!!
I'll let you know tomorrow. i always give a record two straight listens, and then i just know.
Cheers.

Surely Killing Joke (1980) is that album?![]()

End of the world and all that caper. Probably.![]()

Strangely enough, this is my second time listening to it. It's good, but some of the tracks (The Lightbringer, Walking With Gods, Gratitude) are too long.
But still a good album.
Aunt Lillian wrote: And thats why Killing Joke cant sell out Academy 2 and Morrissey headlines V festival.
There are other bands playing the V Festival you know.
Radiohead are quite popular, I hear.
Christopher Owens wrote: Look for the review of The Smiths Hand In Glove.
Jaz snapped the record in two. Classic.
But Geordie called Stay by the blue Nile insipid. WTF?? the Blue Nile are legends.
Aunt Lillian wrote: Yes, but Morrissey is Headlining one of the days. Cant you read?
And what's the big deal? Killing Joke headlined one of the stages at V a few years back. I don't care. As long as they put in a great show, I'm happy.
It's what the fans think, not NME readers who bash every band that doesn't appear in the magazine.
great to be back.
just for the Liam/Chris show.
anyway who cares about Headliners. big festivals are shite. give me a place like the Manc Academy any day of the week.

Have you ever been to Manc academy?
And my point is, that Morrissey has been way more successful than Killing Joke could ever dream off, (as have the Pet Shop Boys for that matter) so its quite ironic the wat Killing Joke slagged them off, wouldnt you agree.
And I must say i like a big festival, i go to manc academy enough so it makes a nice change.
not arsed about how many records they all sell. that's their problem.
just like the music. end of.
smiths were great. not fussed on Moz now. love the Joke, mainly coz Geordie the guitarist is shit hot. the best out there.

Why is it ironic? They thought the singles were shite. It's an opinion. What has being successful got to do with anything? Robbie Williams is successful, but the stuff he has released that I've listened to is shite.
Killing Joke don't care about being successful, while I'm sure the likes of the PSB and Mozza do care.
As they have said, they are more proud at influencing bands like Metallica, NIN, Ministry, Nirvana, Faith No More, Skinny Puppy etc.
Why give a fuck about being successful?

Lillian seems to be saying 'My band's more commercially successful than yours, so yours is shite.'

What bollocks.

I didn't think people still used that argument.

My argument is that after 25 years, they cant be THAT good if they are still playing venues like academy 2.
Speaking of which, Are you still coming over for this Chris?

Or else they aren't commercially viable enough to do big gigs.Or else maybe they like playing small venues. They did an arena tour with Motley Crue last year, and played the NEC and SECC in 2003. They said they hated it because there was no rapport with the audience. They did two nights at the Shepherd's Bush Empire last year and sold both of them out. Not big, I admit, but who gives a fuck. As long as they turn up and play well, I'm happy.
Let the other corporate cocksuckers flog their crap new albums at Wembley Arena and Earls Court for all I care
I'm sure you were happy when Moz announced his UK tour. No complaints there? And you like ACR. Not exactly stadium fillers are they?
Aunt Lillian wrote: Speaking of which, Are you still coming over for this Chris?
No. Other things have come up.
