never thought of it like that, but I supppose it IS a kind of falsetto. All I know is, that for any normal human to make the same noise as Mozza, they have to pull some hellish odd throat and gob shapes.

Thats the impression I got. But when I went to see him at the You are the Quarry Tour the place was packed with young people my age and younger, male and female.

too bloody right. And i remember the gigs on the last tour. Blackpool was like a riot. Leeds Festival was like a war with White Stripes fans, and the Move festival gig was just violent. Its always mayhem. Wouldnt go otherwise!

Just bought the album today. Quite excited as I was skipping through the songs and they all have a certian catchiness. His albums always need a few listens before I can really enjoy them, but this one is looking REALLY good.
And for all those that hate the Moz, my condolances. . .but I find it surprising since everyone I've ever met in real life that loves NO, loves the Moz. . .maybe are there some fake NO fans out there?????

ive played the album twice.its o.k. back in the day i was heavily into smiths.havent followed his solo as much and only have 4 of his albums but some belting tracks on them. his lyrics are unique,he is a legend.everybody knows his voice.i like his voice and no one could sing his songs better.forced or otherwise
as for any suggestion that smiths fans might be a bit girly,i was at preston guild hall in 1985 and it got stopped after just 2 minutes because of crowd trouble
