Surely that's the wrong way of looking at it? As I understand the story, its not a single bad reaction that's the issue, but the culmulative effect. Still, given he was taking 25 a day for, what, 20 years? (can't be bothered to do the maths) it doesn't seem that big a deal. Makes one wonder what would happen to someone who took 25 aspirin a day or 25 prozac or drank 25 cups of coffee or 25 pints of beer or 25 Mars bars, etc.

Actually I recall seeing a documentary on Ch4 about 13-14 years ago and they had the government's chief medical officer on it and he basically said that if you took 2 people and gave one a measured dose of alcohol each day and the other a measured dose of heroin....that the junkie would die of old age and the boozer would be toasted in a few years.

No word of a lie....I used to tech at this club, and there were two lads who pretty much brought everyone's party with them....one night they arrived sans the pharmaceuticals and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth......it seemed their wholesaler had been interecpted and detained by the local cuntstabulary. Aside from the drug usage, are you sure that there is another reason why Barney needs an autocue? I mean, after all of the dancing and whooping while he is singing, the multi-tasking could sometimes result in lapses of concentration. How come he remembers the music notes for the songs more than the lyrics?
