BTW I voted PJ cos they are a least a group of talent musicians, whereas goths are a diseased band of black clad sohoegazing nosepickers who should have been hunted to extinction years ago with pointed sticks. Goth bands...well WTF does that mean any more really? Any fucjwitt who sticks on some black eyeliner and a bad hair do and doesn't sound EXACTLY like Britney.

The advent of Pearl Jam was the death of alternative music. Never cared for them. They could fuck off and die and take every recording they ever made with them and I would not be bothered.

I have to say I prefer Pearl Jam cos goths that hang out in the city scare me. I was in the shopping centre one day and the started dancing around in this buig circle - there were about 50 of them - all holding ands and laughing like they were possesed. Then one ran up to me and started snapping one of those hand clapper things they give out at the footy and laughing. It was dead scary.
Plus, they think they are being really rebellious and different - but how can you be different when there are hundereds of them, all dressed the same? You're conforming to a discourse still, you're just swapping.

I'd pick Pearl Jam since they led me to Stone Temple Pilots in a strange kind of way.
I thought the whole goth scene died. Then all of a sudden they were everywhere again. Like zombies from Dawn of the Dead. I have to laugh because to wear all black in Florida is the height of stupidity. Most of the goths I knew in college were at least smart enough to wearing all white. There was an old article (1985?) in SPIN that talked about the practicality of wearing all black. You never had to match colors, if it faded you could always re-dye it, etc. A good parody. The title had something to do with the Smiths lyrics "I wear black on the outside 'cause black is how I feel on the inside."
