Favourite Red Dwarf Season (Redux)

Now that almost all the DVDs are on the market (of the seasons that count anyway), which is everyone's favourite?

At the moment, my vote goes for Season II and III.

after series one, and before ace rimmer.

they're totally pricey, its about $40 CDN for each DVD. :(

Also, I really want to go to a Red Dwarf convention sometime!

Personally I preferred the first two series, they were more character based and less reliant on adventures and therefore special effects.

As the series progressed Rimmer and his character flaws became the dominant focus of each programme and unfortunately The Cat became more stupid and less like the character he was in the early episodes.

Still a great comedy series though.

i liked it upto series 4 then totally lost interest, and when they brought it back for series 7 onwards it was just plain shit and painful to watch

agreed. season V and VI were ok, but then the rest after that were shite. then they decided to use AWFUL CGI effects.

RedDwarf II is my favorite

Red Dwarf 3 is my favourite, I just love BETTER THAN LIFE

Yep.Loved it up until 6&7

3-5: After that things went accelerating downhill. I really hope there isn't a film and I really really hope that there isn't a US remake.

i'd love to watch the full episode of the american pilot. its too bad they only added a few scenes...

i know they have them on ebay sometimes, but i have never seen a full episode either. although i hear we arent missing much

there were 2 american pilots with slightly different casts, robert Llywellen was part of both of them.

in one the cat was male and in another cat was female

and in the series 5 bonus disc, craig charles said the cast of the UK Dwarf called the U.S. pilots "white drarf" because there were no people of color in it.
