Anyway, one important factor they overlook...mac owners are not dribbling morons by and large, whereas any dipshit on earth can be let loose online behind the controls of win-toaster-xp.
(ps: less of the "PC", i have 2 PC's and only one of them is an open wound ripe for infection)

Seen it for download already. oh the horror. Still, it MAY backfire on tossersoft, OSx might find it's way to PC, natively.

Well Steve, Windows has its good sides... but I really wish Microsoft would allow license of the Win32 platform someday (which caused the death of OS2, a better OS)
I don't miss the good old MS-DOS 3.1 days (even got to MS-DOS 6.0 even though I have no idea what was changed!)
I fear Vista will be another step in the way of "user-friendlyness", hence "power users" will hate it even more due to the fact they changed, again, all the commands we know by heart.

I can't even use Litestep in Xp properly. I like my custom commands and fast and slim UI. Hence I like me old penguin, I mean you CAN have KDE and a cmputer that makes Xp look decidedly sparse, or you can use something downright daft like blackbox.
I think the only one of windows strong points that can actually be credited to MS is DirectX, which is not only a good idea, but is, in an astounding break with tradition, solidly implemented.
EDIT: vista SEEMS to be much more customizable tha previous versions, BUT, whether or not that is cosmetic and or costly to performance remains to be seen. My mate has watched Vista destroy a dual core opteron with 4 GB of RAM, aparently the whole IT dept. took it in turns to come in and laugh at it.

That's exactly what I thought when I read that they put the intel chip in there.
This sucks, I was planning on getting a Mac in two weeks.

I honestly don't think it's a bad thing actually.
Mac computers are nice, solid, never had major issues, if they could translate this into the PC world, they would benefit from a lot of new users (and market share)
Having MacOS and Windows in dual boot is useful because many PC users will never do a switch because they would lose their softwares... now they will have no reason to do so.
In fact, my wife wanted a mac, the only reason she didn't want to get rid of her PC was because of her games and the softwares she paid a lot for... now she'll be able to have both.
