Saw The Streets at Aberdeen last night. As predicted, quite a contrast to Morrissey last weekend.
Basically a beer fight between the audience and Skinner, who must have had about 20 pints of lager brought to the stage to throw at the crowd. Loads of clothes hitting the stage, and one inflatable sheep 
I was surprised at how live the music was. A real drummer, guitars everything!
Top night out though - ended with the Aberdeen Order wrecking my flat.
So they are proper knobheads then...glad to hear. Laughed my bollox off at their new tune on the radio the other day.

Roy's wife went berzerk when the guy in front of us held a lighter above his head during Never Went to Church.
She was ORDERING me to kick his head in there and then, but between us we managed to convince her to give him a chance. Then he went and did it again during Dry Your Eyes 
There were loads of people on the stage. A drummer, keyboard/computer bloke, Skinner, a proper singer and a guitarist. Also the bloke who ran on and off with the instruments and the guy who's job it was to bring the beer for chucking into the crowd.

Nice to know not everyone's as pig lazy and/or label-whipped as NO ;)
Would like to see them some time, when I first heard them I thought his voice would wear me down to hatred in no time, but it's weathered well.
Mind you I'm starting to think my gigging days are over and that I've become VERy old very quickly or something.
EDIT: in case anyone wants to yell at me for being rude to NO, I state again, they created this monster so they deserve no sympathy ;)
Think Skinner has steadily gone down hill since Original Pirate Material,which is a shame. I think the Mitchell Brothers album is far superior to the latest Streets one.
I like the way he's changed. When Pirate Material came out he admitted that it would have to be his last album about fighting in late-night kebab queues. Because his style is to write about what's happening in his life, his third album was always going to be about taking cocaine with other pop stars and spending loads of money.
There were some top promotional credit cards at the merchandise stand!
We saw The Streets at Subterania in Ladbroke Grove about 2 years ago through XFM and he was very good. Very intimate gig, he was handing out booze from optics mounted on the drumkit and it was a real laugh. His singer is very very good too. Don't know his name. Great night.
Thought we were going to get killed round the back streets of the Grove though. Very Ghetto.
