According to the handicap bet I had, the main clubs who performed higher than expected where:
Liverpool Tottenham West Ham Wigan
3 of which have also made it to cup finals. Perhaps you might anticipate Liverpool might but then they've done so at the expense of Man Utd and Chelsea, so all in all it's difficult to split them.
Pardew for me, by a nats chuff.
I'd take Paul Jewell just ahead of Pardew, simply cos everyone thought Wigan were gonna be the whipping boys. Getting them to a Cup Final was unbelieveable an all.
I know Pardew's got West Ham to the 'proper' cup Final and done a great job, but I would have said he had a stronger squad and more resources.
Got to be slightly partisan and say Pardew - to think this time last season we had just sneaked into the play-offs and now we haven't been out of the top half of the Premiership all season, FA Cup final, Europe next year... Jewell has done a great job as well, possibly with a weaker squad and less resources, but Pards has turned things around magnificently given the pressure he was under last year...

Weel in that case, definitely Pardew...

Whelan may be minted, but I will bet you West Ham spent more money on transfers last year.
Wigan average around what? 18,000
West Ham must be around the 30 mark.
More resources, yes ![]()
i'd give it to pardew, this time last season all those 'loyal' west ham fans we're calling for his head, hes done well to turn things around.
