Who here knows that there's a silent surfer clocking the odd move that they make on these forums?!

From my own experiences I know of at least two women who've read up on my thoughts here in the past nine months or so, dropping stuff into conversations which I'd never told them directly. On one occasion landing me in a lot of hot water with a certain person whose ticket I gave away for the QEH to someone else who I'd denied taking along!! Those who know me will know who the two individuals are! I ain't naming their names for my own safety! But, if they're reading, Hello Girls!

And I also know of another onliner (naming no names!) who asked a few of us offline NOT to mention his social ongoings here for fear of reprisals elsewhere!

I know we all do it. You meet someone new and you can't help but google that individual to see if there's any more to be found out about them. Curiosity killed the cat though, and all that.

Anyone else here know for certain that they've been stalked?! Or, perhaps not stalked, just taken an interest in.

haven't even visited the chat - room because apart from not having the time this last while- and that it took so long to setup, or upload whatever the JAVA script called for, wasn't clear if it was innocent masquerade chat or perhaps something more in there. knowing the user/ compared w/ a charade. I always get a little freaked out when someone I know "in real life" (i.e., actually interact with on a farm behind the barn...em, I mean, in my daily routine :nervous: ) mentions that they've read something of mine (without me asking them to) or I start discussing something and they say "yeah, I read that on your blog" :eek:

If I had a girlfriend, I probably would change my name so when she asks "who is this Trevor guy that's on here all the time talking about how he can't get any", I can turn to her and look her straight in the eye, with my head held aloft and say: "Babe, that's just some loser. Come sit next to me, Comrade Shampanyov...I believe you left your glove here the last time we sipped shampanyov" :evil4:

:laugh: I'm being watched by three people that I know of. One of them's just :nuts: and has followed me obsessively for a number of years now, one's the boyfriend, and the other is a gal who is just fascinated by my life for some reason to the point of mimicry.

I like my friends to have a bit of mystery, so I don't try to sort out where they've been and what they've said online for the past decade. I ain't creepy, y'know? You change so much in a decade or more, so why hold any one to anything they've said in the past if they haven't held the same notions for x number of years? :confused2:

Yup. Those're my thoughts on it.

And beside, the only thing I hate about this forum is that it's full of proofs that I should be working instead of being here.

Maybe people talk about me offline, I have no idea, but I don't think I'm that important :p

Well, now that I think of it, nobody I know what me here, except my sister once.. but I do remember a work collegue telling me his girlfriend read me in a reality tv forum.. I'm not sure I wanted anybody to know that :p

I was introduced to someone at work a while back called Dom Kershaw...I had to get him to repeat his name :laugh:

oh, and I gave our C2 Confusion track to a few people at work. It's got the Barney Army as the mp3 artist tag and a few asked is that your band name?. I do hope they havent googled it. :uhoh:

Don't think it's to do with boredom, Nic, it's simply having an inquisitive mind. I always like to know who I'm talking to. Girl gave me her email address recently and when I googled her I found out she was a happy hardcore DJ and her own website dedicated to her with lots of lovely pics of her, then read her notes on a forum (not dissimilar to this one) and could pick out a relationship history for her going back three years and even knew where she'd been on holiday.

Course, the banning order now stops me going within 200ft of her but, hey, I've got a decent extension on me camera lens. :evil4:

I know an ex bird used to keep tabs on me here back in the early days, but not anymore I don't think. Mrs Shug knows how much shite I talk, so I doubt she'd want to read it as well.

As for Googling people, I've done it once or twice in the past, but I'm far too lazy these days. I usually take people on what I see them write in here.

Mrs SHEDi thinks NOOL is a load of rubbish anyway, so I also doubt she'd bother looking on here... I don't think anyone else knows my username, though if someone was determined no doubt they could work it out... Don't think I've incriminated myself too much, though... :skeptic:

I thought only your log in name could be googled (rather than your real name which you can hide)?

That's why I hide my forum details... then again it's all a bit pointless as you can quite easily find it out via my website.

I often wondered if one of my exes is stalking me; she recently got in touch and seemed to be fairly clued up...

It's a common name in Lancs is mine.

Lost a two year relationship as a DIRECT result of NOOL. In fairness it was at a difficult stage anyway but was condemned for good thanks to stuff on here. It's the reason why I changed my username. A few folk on here know the story. Don't ask me to repeat it. Not one of my proudest moments.
