Are their albums worth getting, or are they more of a singles band?

Never bought any of the albums,just singles Masquerade,Into The Valley and Working For the Yankee Dollar. Shame about Stuart Adamson.That was his name wasn't it?Lead singer of Big Country?

I would imagine that a Singles comp would be best for the Skids. I've only The Absolute Game album, which is good, but I don't play it that often.

used to go to school discos when they always played "Into The Valley" circa 1979. i was 9. always thought they were crap-punk. like loads of others at the time.

Didn't Richard Jobson form another band later on with John McGeoch (again, RIP - genius guitarist) called the Armoury Show?

It WAS tragic that Stu Adamson took his own life as well, even though I wasnt much of a Big Country fan.

They were a big part of my adolescence along with the likes of The Ruts, Killing Joke, SLF etc. Bought the first two albums but I felt that they fizzled out and went a bit wankery Art school.

I still class THE CROSSING by Big Country as one of the best debut albums of all time.
