Yes, I grew up in the '70s, and not only is Tom Baker Doctor Who; Roger Moore is James Bond.

It is a well established fact that the part of Dr Who has been played by many actors, and one real Timelord, Tom Baker.

No one has evern been able to do funny and terrifying at once quite like him. I could go one forever but fuck it, he IS the Dr, and the funniest thing on Little Britain. My wee sis is a huge fan and reckons they tried scripting his bits before giving up and just pressing record and letting him go

Plus his image sold more pairs of underpants to Dr Who Anoraks, than Pertwee and Davidson combined!

Y'know, i never went for anything like that. Model Dalek yes, model TARDIS. That kind of weird obsessional fagism is for trekkers and people who know nothing about science fiction ( or star wars fans as many call them)

Currently my accomodation hs a picture of some Daleks crossing Westminster Bridge, a 1/5th scale cardboard cutout Dalek......

And a little TARDIS with a microwave radiation detector in it, it's little blue liight flashes (with optional time rotor/demat circuit noise) when mobile phones are active near it.

This may be sad enough for you, but they were bought for me by a total babe so errrm up yer bum :D

Not even wheni was a nipper i think. I do do an exceptional dalek voice.

To return to the topic..... great baker quotes...

"my dear chap, anyone can make sense" "whatever I've done for you in the past I've more than made up for" "Spack off!" "If you're supposed to be the supererior creatures of the universe, why don't you try climbing after us" ( to a deeply pissed off primitive Dalek)

2nd arch from the left......

I used the term cos "living room" doesn;t cover it, it's more of a semi-fucked machine storage area with a chair and a sofa in it.

I agree the Tom Baker IS Dr. Who. However, I have seen a small number of episodes here in the states with some other doctors. John Pertwee and William Hartnell are the ones that I know I've seen. However, Dr. Who is very difficult to come by in general in this country. Damn shame. I remember it being in a little later than would have liked it back when I was a kid, and I haven't seen it on TV in many years, even with the gazillion channels I've got.

And I'll give my James Bond vote to Roger Moore. I know most people favor Sean Connery but maybe it's because the first Bond movies I saw were all Moore.

Minx, your broken quote has left a number of table, tr, td and span tags orphaned...

Therefore, like the Tardis, your post exists outside of conventional space and time.

I don't like him. Never have. He has the face and voice of nightmares (for me). I remember him in the She Devil as well.

Same with Oliver Reed. Anybody mentions his name, and i pull my face. I can't help it, it's an involuntary reaction.

I know they get cast in certain roles, which has made me think of them as 'baddies'. In my mind, I think it's because Casting Agents have a gift, and they can sense truly evil people, and cast them in suitable roles.

(Sorry Cambo)

:( Jem you wound me. But he's meant to be that scary he is after all "the oncoming storm". As a later Dr said when asked..."what do monsters have nightmares about"......"ME!". :D Funny tho, for me he is by far the funniest Dr, and that's some statement cos Sly McCoy, Bill hartell and Pat Troughton were all fucking hilarious.

I'm buying the scarf you know  40 bills on ebay

He wears a shite scarf a shite hat and he speaks a bit funny.

What is there to appreciate?

K9 on the other hand.... Cool as fuck he was.

Apparently the latest Dr is opening a school fete near me this Sunday.

Er, but there's a little matter of some footie somewhere...

There is a guide on Dr. Who (the original version, not the 2005 version) in the student store. I will buy it eventually. Still haven't seen the show, not even the new one.

steal some off peer to peer donkey! I got mine there cos I already bought the shows with my tv license fee. or set yer feckin tivo :D

Doc, peer-to-peer is out of the question. It's a copyright violation and an honor code violation in my uni. Dr. Who and some of my favorite tunes are not worth getting expelled over. I shall study sometime today. :read:

Tivo is also out of the question. It's too expensive, and with school, I'm not going to use the machine as much.

And I'm not a donkey. :p

All I've seen of the new series is the Dalek clip to which Campo posted a link. However...

Just learned that the Sci-Fi channel here in the U.S. is hosting an eight-episode marathon next week, July 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Check with your cable company for local stations and times.

Do NOT miss "Dalek" Creepy wee fuckers no matter what happens to them ;) In fact they are all pretty bloody good, except Father's Day which is a lame, soap opera version of the old trek episode "city on the edge of forever"
