Splendid

There's a guy in my office who uses the word 'splendid'. I quite like it, but i don't like him - he's a total cock.
His other favourite saying is 'and so on and so forth' but he peppers his conversations with this, so now, of course, we all take the p*ss.
And so on and so forth

Do you work with Charles Dickens? ![]()
Cocks who inappropriately use the word so should all fooking die as far as im concerned.
As in -"that is so not true", "im so not going"
Use the Queens English CUNTS.
P.S blimey- this is so Uncle Liam ![]()
Athletes, at least in this country, say "you know" about every other word. There should be a $10,000 fine for every "you know" in an interview.
Racing drivers say 'for sure' a lot, but I don't mind that.
I've noticed quite a few people (who have never met) saying 'yeah yeah' quite a bit over the last week or so.

That's a good idea. And maybe even confiscate a piece of jewellery at the same time to be donated to a worthwhile charity. The 'you know lines have taken on a whole new life after Manumatics' original song for C2 - it's fantastic.
Depends who is saying it also- if a word has an inflection up or down. Fantastic can work inmyopinion because imagine Cillian Murphy and Stephen Rea from Breakfast on Pluto with the inflection flat or down.

Frequently used word in Blackadder, especially by General Melchett.

I was watching an episode of Unsolved Mysteries once where they interviewed this "up-and-coming rap artist" because his poor kid had been abducted after the mother was murdered. Horrible, horrible crime...but I swear I wanted to hit the guy upside the head because he kept repeating "know what I'm saying" ad nauseum every other sentence ![]()
You know, that's just, you know, annoying...you know? ![]()
I like the word...Preposterous! But used sparingly.. Not sure if I can even spell Preposterous, mind! I am prone to using words I can't spell, but I make no apologies for that....Balderdash! is another posh one to alter the accent,if you don't mind coming the twat! Those two words make a bit of a change from.. Shite and Bollox, respectivily, which are far more prevailent on Teesside...
My friend Marija hates the word TUBE as in the London underground. And she always says that the UK houses are called the townhouses, whatever the fuck that means... Just the fact that she keeps mentioning it in every single conversation makes me rather annoyed for no particular reason. ![]()

I agree... Because people (who do not speak English but use it as the international language) do not want to speak English but American English - I have arguments with my English friends about it : the world do not speak English thanks to the British but thanks to the Americans. It drives them crazy, but I am sure that I am true. Well, anyway, people who use the "you know" formula like a comma drive me crazy !!! Ok lads, my English is weak, but I try to speak the best French I can when I have to talk with people... and everything related to the "you know" phenomenon should be heavily charged. We have the same problem now with "tu vois". People need "tu vois" where English speakers need "you know"... Putaing de bordel de merde, ça m'énerve... Sorry, this is heat and I lose my good temper when it is so.
I also have an ugly allergy to people who mime quotation marks with their fingers with, most of the time, a feeling of distress on their face as they could not express theses three simple words "between quotation marks" which belong to the minimum of vocabulary one must have after five years of primary school. Straight to the guillotine for them...
Thank you for your attention...
